From our interns Sean Lampley and Rebecca Riley:
Prior to starting our internship, we each expected to engage in typical PR tasks: writing press releases, drafting newsletters, compiling media kits, and creating social media content. At Himmelrich PR, we do those things—and more! One day we’re sitting in on a website redevelopment meeting and the next we’re walking around a craft festival, getting inspiration and information for newsletters. We both love coming to work every day and experiencing new things. Here are a few highlights of our internships so far:
We conducted research at a craft festival by meeting local artists and learning about their work.
We took a trip to our client’s restaurant where we photographed (and sampled!) new, delicious fall menu items.
We visited a local university hosting an extravagant event for over 400 VIP guests. We spoke with the university’s Senior Event Director who gave us a detailed overview of the process of planning and executing the event.
What we have enjoyed most about our time here, though, is when the whole office comes together to celebrate. We’ve had muffins and pastries to celebrate birthdays, a Chipotle lunch on our first day, and cheered on the O’s in their playoff game while working on laptops in the conference room and enjoying pizza.
After such an eventful first month, we can’t wait to see what Himmelrich PR has in store for us next!
